Dear family and friends of Panther Youth Football Program,
This letter is to let you know what has been happening in the off-season.
First let me tell you that we as a board are looking forward to yet another great season, which starts on August 3, 2009. With the expansion of the league, the NCFL has added two new towns (Cromwell and Putnam/Woodstock). We will still be playing an 8 game season and the only difference would be that we are now spilt into a North and South Division.
We have spoken with the new Director of Parks and Recreation and he has a lot of good ideas to help expand are team (one idea would be to hold a punt, pass and kick competition that would be sponsored by the NFL).
Since last year’s fundraiser was a success, we are planning to do the same type of fundraiser this year. If you have any suggestions for fundraising this year, please bring your ideas to our next meeting.
We have also been in contact with UCONN again this year for game tickets. There will be two games this year which means that we will need to obtain the tickets earlier than last year. They did say that the price went up but they are unsure of how much (more to come on the tickets).
If you are not already aware, Nicole Feldman has resigned as the Cheerleading Coordinator and Coach which means that we have open spots to fill. If you are interested in becoming a Cheerleading Coordinator or a Coach, please contact any of the board members listed below.
Now for the down side, we as the board had to ask the Treasurer to step down from his position. We found out that he had utilized the leagues funds for personal use and for that reason; we felt that it was in the best interest of the league that all of the money be repaid back to the league which it was. As of this time, no further action has been taken.

Hello Parents,
The fundraiser items will be available for pick-up after practice on Thursday night. Please come to the firehouse to get your items. They must be picked up that evening as we have no place to store them overnight.

Hello Parents,
Please remind your children to take their water bottles and any other garbage they may have off the field. The league is incurring charges with the Park & Rec Dept for field clean-up after practices & games.

THE C & A SQUADS WILL PLAY THEIR MAKE UP GAME THIS WEDNESDAY, THE B SQUAD WILL PLAY THEIR GAME ON THURSDAY. PLEASE ARRIVE FOR PRACTICE AT 5:30. DUE TO THIS CHANGE PICTURE SCHEDULE WILL BE AS FOLLOWS:
THURSDAY: A & D SQUADS
FRIDAY : B & C SQUADS
PLAYERS ARE TO BRING THEIR GAME PANTS & JERSEYS AND CHEERLEADERS ARE TO BRING THEIR UNIFORMS.

Hello everyone,
This Sunday we will be doing the team/individual pictures. "TSS" will be there and ready to photograph the "D" squad at 7:30 so please be prompt, all other teams will fall in line with their game schedule. I will be distributing the order forms tonight at practice.

Hello everyone,
This is in regards to football players,there are still quite a few of you who owe me certain pieces of paperwork required for the books. It is imperative that it get turned in tomorrow or Friday because the coaches will be taking the books from me that night for the weigh-in on Saturday. Any player with missing paperwork will not be signed off on at weigh-in and will not be allowed to play in Sunday's game. I will be there tomorrow night, I have extra copies of the 4 forms required, but if you know that you still owe me your birth certificate copy please bring it, or if your physicians form is not yet filled out you will NEED to get it done on Friday. Any questions, let me know.
